Greedy Cow Bakes began the way the best things usually do — quietly, in a home kitchen, with a few trays of doughnuts shared between friends.
Word spread fast. What started as weekend bakes for the people closest to founder Nazia Yasmin grew, batch by batch, into one of East London’s most-loved doughnut counters. The friends became regulars. The regulars brought friends. And before long there was a queue down Hackney Road every weekend.
Made the slow way
Nothing here is rushed. Our dough is slow proofed the old-fashioned way for that signature pillow-soft, pull-apart crumb. Every doughnut is hand-filled to order, every cake baked from scratch, every cheesecake finished with fresh fruit. We make in small batches so that what you taste is exactly what came out of the kitchen that morning.
Halal, always
Everything we bake is 100% halal — no exceptions. From our Korean milk doughnuts to the crème brûlée we torch to order, it’s all made to one simple rule Nazia started with: nothing leaves the counter that we wouldn’t proudly serve our own family.

You’ll find the counter at 395 Hackney Road, London E2 8PP, open Friday to Sunday, 11am–8pm. The most-loved flavours sell out fast, so come early, bring a friend, and leave with a box.
